USAPA Rankings: Tournament Status Page
Status of Completed Tournaments
- Empire State Senior Games: Points have been posted.
This is the first year they have received ranking points. It looks like they
had a larger tournament this year and hopefully it will be even bigger next year.
It was rated as a tier 4 tournament and because of lack of information could
not be reviewed for a possible higher tier.
- May SeaTac Tournament: Points have been posted.
This tournament did not earn its previous Tier 2 rating, but because it
was a Tier 2 last year, points were awarded as a tier 2. Next year, this
will be a tier 4 unless it has better participation. In 4.0, no points
were given to players who were rated 4.5 or to their partners in doubles.
- May 24 HR Everett Tournament:
Points have now been awarded as a tier 4 tournament. In 4.0, no points
were given to players who were rated as 4.5 or to their partners in doubles.
- Wrightwood tournament: Points have been posted.
It has squeaked in with a tier 3 rating having 7.1 entries per
event. This is very good for a first year tournament. It was a rated
tournament open to all ages and my understanding is that there were
many non-seniors and a few juniors.
- Northwest Senior Games: Points have been posted!
They have been awarded according to how the medals were awarded. In some
cases, this may not match the draw sheet results because some events were
combined. It was a tier 4 based on the number of players per event and
also last years tier rating.
- Washington State Senior Games: Points have now been posted!
- State Games of Oregon: Points have now been awarded!. Remember that 2nd flights are not eligible for points, although they are great for providing more fun for everyone.
- Michigan Senior Games: Points have now been awarded! Because there were several combined events,
and it was a Senior Olympics Tournament, points were awarded according to the medals that players received. Disregard
results shown for combined events on the USAPA web site results page. Michigan did a great job sending in their results with enough information to identify players when names are similar. Thank you Lauren Polinsky for a good job.
- Everett 24 Hr Fall Blowout - August 23-24 Points have now been entered as a Tier 4 Tournament and reports run.
- National Senior Games Championship Festival - Sept 4 - 7 Points have now been entered as a Tier 1 Tournament and reports run. There
was some confusion with names spelled differently in different places, but I tried to send email inquiries to the players involved. However, everybody
should check results for incorrect spelling.
- San Diego Senior Olympics September 26-September 28 All points now posted and reports run.
- SeaTac Community Center September 27-September 28. 4.0 events declared as non-sanctioned because of rule violations. 4.5+ events have now had points awarded! Tournament was for USAPA members only so non-members Enrique Ruiz, Betty Perng, and their partners in doubles did not receive points. The 4.5+ events qualified as a tier 3 tournament with 7.25 players per event. All points now posted and reports run.
- Port Angeles Senior Games. No Draw Sheets or communication Received Yet from these senior games!.
- Huntsman: All points have been entered and reports run.
Thanks to Huntsman for their
prompt online display of winners and draw sheets. Very Good Job! Players should remember that points are not awarded in "B" flights.
- Voyager Holiday Skill Rated Tournament All points have been entered and reports run. Congratulations to Voyager in
managing to get a tier 3 rating for this event. This guarantees them a tier 3 rating for their next years December Tournament as long as they
apply for sanction and follow all rules as they did this year. Remember that this was an all age tournament so look for points under 3.0, 3.5, 4.0,
and 4.5 instead of senior 3.0, senior 3.5, etc!!! Remember also that only the top events in each category receive points!
- For those who wonder about how tier levels are determined, read our document "USAPA Guidelines for Assignment of Tier Levels" by clicking
here.
- As usual you are advised to check if your points earned were entered correctly
since mistakes are sometimes made. If a mistake is found, click on the link at
the bottom of the rankings page and let us know.
